SYNOPSIS

Are the new nomads resourceful utopians or the good students of hyper-mobile neo-liberalism? The answer probably lies somewhere between these two extremes. By changing their world because they’ve given up on changing the world, these new nomads are radical pragmatists who show us, perhaps, one of the faces of our future, which is likely to be unstable, unpredictable, volatile and therefore, mobile.

The term “nomad” has often been associated with prehistoric man and his way of life, utterly different from our own sedentary one. Yet it’s impossible to ignore the fact that it’s becoming widely popular with a whole new generation in search of adventure and freedom. Alongside the development of social networks, in a life that seems to be flying by so fast, more and more people are deciding to live the life of a nomadic traveller. Whether in a van or an airplane, they all share the same goal : to escape a daily routine that no longer satisfies them, and to finally give meaning to their lives. But can we really speak of a long-term lifestyle, or is it simply a generational phenomenon? Let’s meet these young French people who have embarked on a fabulous adventure against all odds, and discover their daily lives.

SYNOPSIS

In the 2022-2023 season, France put its title, previously won by chef Davy Tissot, back on the line. The new candidate, Naïs Pirollet, who represented the country, was the only female chef in the competition.

Faced with the excellence of the much-feared Scandinavian countries, and the overflowing ambitions of the outsiders from Latin America, Africa and Asia, France, the most recent winner to date, is putting its title back on the line. The one and only female candidate, 25-year-old Naïs Pirollet, is ready to take up the challenge… surrounded by the legends of French (Anne-Sophie Pic, Jérôme Banctel…) and world gastronomy (Dominique Crenn, Rasmus Kofoed), and in particular the latest winner, her mentor chef Davy Tissot, for a unique adventure.

SYNOPSIS

Behind the scenes at the World Pizza Championship in Parma (Italy), we delve into the lives of young French pizza makers aged between 20 and 25 who are preparing for this prestigious competition in various categories : Neapolitan, Classic and Freestyle! Some are already great champions. Others are just starting out. Everyone trains to give their best, surrounded by mentors, friends and family. Because pizza is their life!

This documentary series shows the challenges, hopes and dreams of six French competitors. These artisans, driven by an all-consuming passion for their work, share a common goal: to win the supreme title in the art of pizza-making. The competition takes place in an electric atmosphere, with around 500 pizza makers from the four corners of the globe rivalling with each other in skill and creativity. The series highlights the competition’s different categories : Neapolitan, for traditional purists, classic, where innovation and original flavors take center stage; and Freestyle, a particularly spectacular category where participants impress with their acrobatics and dexterity.
