Ultra Trail Mont-Blanc, The race of their life

SYNOPSIS

In the heart of the Alps, around the roof of Europe, Laura, Ruth, and Théo, three passionate trail runners, experience the adventure of a lifetime during the 2025 edition of the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc.

Every year at the end of August, Chamonix becomes the stage for a challenge deemed impossible: the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc. Created in 2003, this trail running race is the most prestigious and legendary in the world. Its concept is unique: on the starting line, the planet’s top athletes rub shoulders with passionate amateurs to tackle a titanic 171 km course with 10,000 meters of positive elevation gain through France, Italy, and Switzerland. For 3 days and 2 nights, the 2,300 participants push the limits of their bodies in the heart of the wilderness, set against the backdrop of the iconic Mont-Blanc. This documentary plunges into the heart of this extraordinary human adventure. Through the intersecting perspectives of both champion and novice runners, the film unveils the lesser-known facets of this extreme sport and tells an extraordinary human story. A total immersion into what remains, for each of them, the race of their lives.
