SYNOPSIS
In the heart of the Alps, around the roof of Europe, Laura, Ruth, and Théo, three passionate trail runners, experience the adventure of a lifetime during the 2025 edition of the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc.
Every year in late August, Chamonix hosts a challenge considered impossible: the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc. Created in 2003, this trail race is the most prestigious and legendary in the world. Its concept is unique: at the starting line, the world’s top athletes rub shoulders with passionate amateurs to tackle a titanic course spanning 171 km and 10,000 meters of elevation gain across France, Italy, and Switzerland. Over 3 days and 2 nights, the 2,300 participants push their bodies to the limit in the heart of the wilderness, with the iconic Mont Blanc as a backdrop. This documentary delves into the heart of this extraordinary human adventure. Through the perspectives of both champion runners and novices, the film reveals the lesser-known facets of this extreme sport and tells the story of an extraordinary human adventure. A total immersion in what remains, for each of them, the race of their lives.
